Dismals Canyon, Phil Campbell

      A National Natural Landmark, the canyon contains one of the oldest untouched forests east of the Mississippi River. Visitors may hike, canoe or swim. There are also Class I-IV rapids at the upper end of the Bear. Camping and rental cabins are available. A Country Store offers food, Indian wares and other goodies.

Hours: March to Memorial Day and Labor Day through November, Weekends 10:00 am Friday til sunset on Sunday.
Memorial Day to Labor Day, daily 10:00 am. Night tours available Friday and Saturday.
December through February, Closed, except for cabin rentals.

Admission: $5.00 for adults, $3.00 for children under 12. Fees for camping and canoe rental.
